Yesterday was really exciting! Farmer Val was looking under the deck for a piece of wood, when suddenly she said: "There's a chicken under this sled!" I didn't really understand, so I ran over to see what was going on with my ball in my mouth, when suddenly, I saw one of our new chickens, Lolly, sitting on an egg! But wait...it wasn't just one egg. It was fifteen eggs! And they were all blue too! "Lolly, why are you laying eggs under the deck?" I asked her. "Why Annie, because it's really comfortable under here!" She said. I didn't quite understand. She was laying her eggs on rocks. So what we did was make Lolly her own nest with hay under the deck, because she refused to lay her eggs in the chicken coop. We made it really comfy for her. "Lolly, is that more comfortable then laying your eggs on rocks?" I said. "It'll do." Lolly responded. She didn't answer my question! I was about to ask her again, but Lolly must have liked her nest so much, because suddenly she laid a blue egg...just for me. I feel so special! Farmer Val said that she felt something move in some of the eggs, so we are going to let Lolly sit on the eggs and see if they hatch. There is always an adventure going on at Sweet Meadows Farm!
